Chicken Bake Recipe

Chicken Bake

This recipe tastes like you have been working in the kitchen for hours, and really it is very simple!

Ingredients

  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 5 slices american cheese (from deli)
  • no-stick cooking spray
  • flour
  • milk
  • bread crumbs

Pasta

  1. Bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Be sure to add salt to the water. This is the only time you can truly flavor your pasta.n Boil pasta for approximately 7 minutes or until the pasta is Al Dente.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Cheese and chicken bake mixture

  1. Boil chicken until thoroughly cooked. Once chicken is boiled, drain water and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Break up each chicken breast into small chunks
  2. In a medium pot, heat 3 cups of milk over medium heat. Only allow milk to HEAT, DO NOT boil! DO NOT bring the milk to a boil.
  3. Add 4 tablespoons of butter. When butter is melted, add 4 tablespoons of flour flour. Slowly stir until flour begins to dissolve.
  4. Add cheese, slowly stirring and melt cheese. This will allow the cheese to melt quicker. Once the cheese, flour and milk is combined, add chicken chunks.
  5. Bring heat to low, slowly stirring for 2-3 minutes

 

In a 13×9 casserole dish, use non stick cooking spray on bottom and sides. Place a thin layer of Al Dente pasta on the bottom of the chicken melt. Cover pasta with sauce combination. Lightly sprinkle salt and pepper between each layer. On the final layer, evenly sprinkle bread crumb topping. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-23 minutes or until topping is melted and a light brown color. Cool for 5 minutes.
